Christmas Marshmallow-Chocolate Crème with Sprinkles

I just needed a recipe to give to my mom for Christmas Eve dessert. Here it is!

  • 7 cups of kosher marshmallows
  • 3 1/2 bars of Hershey's Milk Chocolate
  • 1/2 cup of Christmas tree sprinkles

Here's how it's made:

Melt marshmallows and chocolate in one bowl. Mix until medium brown. Add sprinkles. Mix. Serves 7.

Caryn's Molasses Cookies

This is my mommy's recipe!

Bake 375 F for 8 minutes

Melt 1.5 sticks unsalted butter (3/4 C) and let it cool a bit. Mix in 1/4 C molasses (dark is best) and 1 C granulated sugar. Then add a slightly beaten egg. Mix up 2 C flour, 2t baking soda and 1/2 teaspoon each of salt, powdered cloves and powdered ginger and then fold that dry stuff into the damp stuff.

Chill in the freezer for 20 minutes or 8 hours or so in the fridge. Roll into balls -- super ball sized? -- and then roll those balls in granulated sugar and put on a greased pan. Bake 375 F for 8 minutes -- 8 cookies per cookie sheet about. I let them rest on the pan about 4 minutes after I take them out -- they seem to crisp up nicely that way.

Here's how it's made:

Bring water to a boil. While water is boiling, peel potatoes and cut them into eighths. When water is finished boiling, put peeled and cut potatoes in the water. Cook potatoes until soft. When potatoes are finished cooking, mash them with sugar. Add cereal. Serves 3.

Kids Hot Chocolate Mix

I love hot chocolate so much that I made a recipe for the stuff! It turned out to be wonderful, so I bought Ball jars and made it into a Christmas gift. Here is the recipe for a 1-person serving:

  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of coconut powder
  • hot water
  • 1 cup soymilk
  • chocolate chips of all varieties (white and dark)
How to make:

Mix cacao powder, sugar, vanilla powder, salt, coconut powder and chocolate chips. Pour a minimal amount of hot water into the mixture. Stir gently until lumpless. Add soymilk. Stir gently until completely mixed. Pour into cup and enjoy!

Hope you like it!!!
