Kids Hot Chocolate Mix

I love hot chocolate so much that I made a recipe for the stuff! It turned out to be wonderful, so I bought Ball jars and made it into a Christmas gift. Here is the recipe for a 1-person serving:

  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • a pinch of coconut powder
  • hot water
  • 1 cup soymilk
  • chocolate chips of all varieties (white and dark)
How to make:

Mix cacao powder, sugar, vanilla powder, salt, coconut powder and chocolate chips. Pour a minimal amount of hot water into the mixture. Stir gently until lumpless. Add soymilk. Stir gently until completely mixed. Pour into cup and enjoy!

Hope you like it!!!
Love, Avery

    1. A and I worked up the recipe for a crowd:
      Cocoa converted for a crowd!

      Tablespoons to cups
      teaspoons to tablespoons
      pinch to teaspoons

      1 Tablespoon [US] = 0.0625 Cup [US]
      1 T = 3 t

      22 pinches per teaspoon

      1 tbsp cacao powder = 24 T times 0.0625 = 1.5 C
      2 tbsp white granulated sugar 3 C
      1/2 tsp vanilla powder 12t - 4T
a pinch of salt > scant teaspoon
a pinch of coconut powder >scant teaspoon

  2. I am trying this with Euro ingredients - I haven't found the coconut powder and the vanilla powder is a small envelope of sugar and vanilla but the result is WONDERFUL - Especially the lump removal technique.

    - Used Swiss Cacao powder which also helps -
